She developed the theory of play
There are six levels of play that she talks about in her theory. They are unoccupied, onlooker, solitary, independent, parallel, associative, and cooperative play.
Unoccupied: The child is looking around but is not engaging in any activity
Onlooker: Watches others play but does not join in to play with them
Solitary Independent: Takes toys that others are not using and plays with them without them knowing
Parallel: Mimics the person who is playing next to them
Associative: Shares the toys with the person next to them and the two play together but need to have a common purpose during the play
Cooperative: The kids play in a group to accomplish a common goal. One example of this could be a sport! (group presentation)
